The Draâ El Mizan Court of First Instance has sentenced artist and writer Ali Belhot to 3 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 DA. Even the publishers who published the two volumes of his book “Ajeǧǧig n ugudu” were each sentenced to one year’s imprisonment and fined DA50,000 each.
It should be remembered that the accused Ali Belhot appeared on November 29, 2023 before the Draa El Mizane court in Tizi Ouzou, having been detained since May 22, 2023, just after his participation in the Boudjima Book Fair, due to the publication of his novel.
