The Malian authorities are threatening Algeria with receiving representatives of the Kabyle people in retaliation for Algeria receiving Malian Islamist terrorists, NATO’s armed wing in the region.
We say go for it! Show the world that you are free, that you are fighting European neo-colonialism as represented in the region by Algeria. Show us your desire to liberate Mali, the sub-Saharan region and the Mediterranean, from the pure joy of French colonialism. Below is the reaction of ANAVAD president Ferhat Mehenni to the statement by Mali’s representatives.
The spokesman for Mali’s Transitional Government,le Colonel Maïga , has just issued a statement denouncing Algerian maneuvers and plots to destabilize his country. Mali has finally understood the sick game of the Algerian generals who want to turn their country into Algeria’s “backyard”, a vassal state like Tunisia today.
He also tells us what we’ve known for almost 20 years: AQIM is an appendage of the Algerian secret services.
Finally, he announces that, as far as Mali is concerned, there would be no better way of giving Algeria the runaround than to consider inviting the MAK to Bamako.
We thank the Malian authorities for giving the MAK a hearing within the African Union. We remain open to dialogue that could lead to sincere support from the Malian government for the Kabyle people’s right to self-determination. We would just remind you that the MAK is a peaceful national liberation movement.
