The poor black muslims. They went to their brothers in religion. They perceive that they were going to a land of scorpions. Algerians, like all Arabs, are racist towards Jews, Westerners and blacks. Especially blacks! I saw that clearly. There is something like ambiguity in the definition of Arab identity in Algeria. all other nations are considered inferior or decaying because they are not muslims. The best among Muslims are obviously the Arabs. Other muslims are just “second hand” muslims who must be ruled by Arabs. This is also where the incomprehension comes from between Arabs and Persians, between Arabs and Turks, between Arabs and Berbers, all of the nations which once ruled the muslim Empire or a large part of this empire.
