Zidane never misses an opportunity to emphasise his Kabyle origins.

The living legend of world football, the Frenchman of Kabyle origin Zinedine Zidane, has once again made a small reference to his homeland. Or to be more precise, his parents’ homeland, Kabylia. In an interview with the YouTube channel Le Média Carré, the 1998 world champion with the French national team was quick to mention Kabylia in response to a question about his physical fitness.
The channel’s host wanted to know how to keep fit at the age of 52, having seen Zinedine Zidane play with such passion. With his legendary humility, Zidane admits that he is not as fit as he used to be. “I’m below my ideal weight. But I’ve lost my muscle, so it’s not the same,” explains the former world champion and Real Madrid coach.
Zidane is attached to his Kabyle origins.
With his trademark smile, he explains his current form, linking it to his Kabyle roots. “I’ve got a bit more fat. There’s a bit more Kabyle bread. There’s a bit more couscous. In other words, we’re eating a bit more,” he added.
