VIOLENT REPRESSION OF THE TOUAREGS OF TIN ZAOUATINE (TAMENƔAST) BY THE ALGERIAN GENDARMERIE: ONE DEAD AND SEVERAL INJURED.
The Algerian gendarmerie has just illustrated itself once again by making use of weapons of war and by firing live ammunition on our Tuareg brothers in Tin Zaouatine (Tamenɣast). Indeed, the populations naively believed that they had the right to demonstrate in order to obtain their most basic social rights, in particular, access to decent housing since they live in the area richest in underground resources (oil, gas, uranium, gold… ). The result of this ferocious repression is one dead and several wounded.
Unable to bring any solution to the difficulties in which the Tuareg populations are plunged, when it is not they who deliberately create them, the Algerian government responds with the only language it knows: violence and repression. You should know that for the Algerian government, whether the Tuaregs, the Mozabites, or the Kabyles, it has to deal with enemy peoples over whom it exercises colonial domination.

The MAK and the Anavad, through the voice of their president Ferhat Mehenni, support the brotherly Tuareg people and encourage them to continue their peaceful struggle to gain their sovereignty so that the looting and the squandering of their wealth by voracious and insatiable strangers finally stops

We appeal to international authorities and opinion to use all their weight against these incessant murders, violence and repressions against the Amazigh peoples who only ask to live in peace on their lands and to decide their destiny.
