Originally it was a work of the president of the independence movement of Kabylia, Ferhat Mehenni who recounted his imprisonments in the prison of Berouiaguia and the tortures inflicted on him by the Algerian colonial state.
This young girl seems to be a sympathizer of the movement and she risks her life by singing Ferhat. For the Algerian state, Kabyle music is synonymous with terrorism.
