Mourad Chabane, poet and human rights activist was kidnapped on 02/10/2021, at his home, by Algerian colonial police officers who broke the door of his house.
The police had announced two days after that he was going to be presented to an examining magistrate in Sidi M’hamed in Algiers, the judicial slaughterhouse against the opponents towards the regime, his family has no news of him and his lawyers do not know where he is.
This raises fears that he is currently being tortured to extract a confession from him for facts to which he is totally unknown.
The president of Anavad denounces this arrest and expresses serious concerns about his physical and moral integrity. He alerts international opinion and organizations that defend human rights around the world to intervene with the Algerian authorities who ensure impunity to torturers and to demand from them news of the political prisoner.
The president of Anavad demands the immediate and unconditional release of Mr. Chabane and all political activists arrested for their convictions and their commitment to the freedom and dignity of the Kabyle people.
