This morning of May 02, 2020, we lost the one who was our official representative of the Kabyle culture and identity in front of the world, Hamid Cheriet, with the artist name Idir. A great man, a great Kabyle artist with a universal heart, has left us.

This night of 2/05/2020 is so sad. “She” throws the darkest of her coats on our souls. What she takes with her is a star that will shine brightly in the firmament where only geniuses are admitted. Kabyle star illuminating the immensity of the universe. Idir, you will never die. Through your melodies, you will continue to make generations of humanity vibrate.
