The citizens of Saharidj experienced a very hectic afternoon on Saturday, November 04, because of the strong mobilization of the repressive forces sent to Saharidj to prevent a scientific conference, scheduled at 3 pm in front of the trade of Madjid Aggad, this Kabyle sovereignist merchant who is under pressure from the authorities and Islamists, because of a simple portrait of Ferhat Mehenni, the president of the Kabyle Provisional Government in exile (Anavad), hanging on the front of his store.
Very early this morning, dams of the colonial forces stationed in Kabylia, searching all the vehicles heading for Saharidj, were installed on all axes that lead to this city in order to repress all the people who came to attend the conference.
Altercations between citizens and colonial police forces were observed at the place where the conference was to be held, after acts of violence committed by the gendarmes against the people who came to attend the conference.
Stone throwing towards the gendarmes targeting their vehicles, finally dissuaded those who immediately left the place.
Witnesses on the spot wanted to inform us that the conference could not take place because it was cancelled by the speaker Madjid Boutemeur, to prevent things from getting worse, following the umpteenth provocation of the colonial police forces.
