Savage attacks against the Tuareg community of Borj Mokhtar have taken place on Algerian state territory. The attack was organised in all likelihood by the Algerian intelligence services.
Many of the perpetrators of these attacks are elements of MUJAO and AQIM (al qiada) which the Algerian authorities allow to move on their territory in peace.
